VIIV HEALTHCARE — PHOTOGRAPHY & BOOK DESIGN
Photo series and book collecting respondent stories as part of research project on HIV among black people in the US for ReD Associates. In-field photography with research respondents over several weeks in Baltimore, Jackson, New Orleans and Atlanta and finally editing and design of a photo book (130 pages) entitled As Much As I Can. The goal was to create a naturalistic and unbiased documentation of the lives and surroundings of the people involved in the study. An impressionistic representation that avoids judgment. The photos and book was exhibited at the EPIC ethnography conference in Hawaii in 2018 and the research project inspired a theatre play produced by Harley & Co. The play toured across the US to sold out crowds during 2019 and won multiple awards.
